TRIPLE BUTTE

TRIPLE BUTTE. Triple Butte is between the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway and U.S. Highway 67 near the Oates oil and gas field and Acebuche Draw seventeen miles southwest of the town of Fort Stockton in southwest Pecos County (at 30°45' N, 103°08' W). The summit attains an elevation of 3,685 feet. The surrounding terrain varies from steep to gently sloping. Native vegetation consists of scrub brush and sparse grasses in sandy soil.
