CROOKED LAKE. Crooked Lake, a small inland body of water, is five miles northeast of Richmond in north central Fort Bend County (at 29°39' N, 95°43' W). The lake drains to the east into Oyster Creek and is adjoined to the east by the Jester correctional facility. The surrounding flat to rolling prairie supports trees and prairie grasses. Crooked Lake was shown on the Fort Bend county land grant map of 1898, but was not named on the 1987 county highway map.
