SOUTH BAY. South Bay is an inlet three miles southeast of Port Isabel on the coast of Cameron County (centered at 26°02'N, 97°11'W). The bay is 2½ miles wide and is bordered by the Gulf Intercoastal Waterwayqv and the Brownsville Ship Channel to the northwest, Clark Island to the north, Del Mar Beach to the east, and Loma de los Gachupines, Loma del Gato, Loma Silvan, and Loma de la Banderita to the west and south.
