Cherokee Place Names in the Southeastern United States
This weblog by John Currahee is devoted to Southeastern United States Cherokee Indian place names. He gives the history and some of the legends behind the names and includes pronunciations. The weblog includes a discussion of the Trail of Tears, and a new and improved arrangement of the Cherokee Syllabary is presented. In addition, there are links to selected spoken Cherokee and Cherokee music audios and videos. This site is authentic and non-commercial. It is listed as a resource by the University of North Carolina, Auburn University, and other colleges and universities. All material is carefully researched.
