De-Mystifying Religion for Classroom Teachers: Teaching About Jews, Judaism, and Religious Diversity

De-Mystifying Religion” was originally developed for CSCOPE professionals developing curriculum for the Educational Service Centers throughout the State of Texas. It is aligned with Chapter 113. Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for Social Studies, Beginning with School Year 2011-2012. This document selects specific TEKS that reference Jews, Judaism, and Israel including Jewish impact on/contributions to the history of Texas. The document also identifies TEKS that reference specific contributions by Jews and Judaism to culture, government, and law, also including those specific to the State of Texas. It then provides specific content for those standards as well as information for additional resources.
