Four presentations available. 1. Notable "Mexicanos" and "Tejanos" in Texas History, 1821-2000 deals with a biographical approach to introduce significant Hispanics and illuminate their roles in Texas, U.S., and world history. 2. Antonio López de Santa Anna deals with a biographical approach to present information on Mexican and Texas history during the first half of the nineteenth century. Stresses that even though Santa Anna was an egotistical opportunist who is not admired in his homeland today, he was the most powerful figure in Mexico from the 1820s to the 1850s. In that capacity, he greatly influenced Texas history as well, especially during the periods of the Texas Revolution, the Republic, and the Mexican War. 3. Notable Men and Women of Spanish Texas, 1527-1821 deals with a biographical approach to present information about Texas during the Spanish colonial period. The presentation typically features four to six people, such as colonizer José de Escandón, Governor Domingo de Cabello, Indian agent Athanase de Mézières, María de Jesús de Agreda (the Lady in Blue), Indian slave María Gertrudis de la Peña, and María de Padilla (wife of Antonio Gil de Ibarvo). 4. Notable Women of Spanish Texas deals with a biographical approach to present information about women in Texas during the Spanish colonial period. The presentation typically focuses on the nun, María de Jesús de Agreda, known as the Lady in Blue; María Gertrudis de la Peña, an Indian slave; and María de Padilla, wife of Antonio Gil de Ibarvo.
