Republic of Texas

Students will write a poem or statement for Stephen F. Austin’s headstone including biographical data and major accomplishments. Class members will complete a graphic organizer containing two columns: one labeled “Problems” and one labeled “Solutions.” Students will fill in information as each group reports. In pairs and using the “Republic of Texas, 1836–1845” section, students will complete the Remember the Republic Memory Game.
