Spanish Missions of Texas Supplemental

Students will plan their summer vacation, choosing to visit either San Antonio or El Paso. While they enjoy their selected city, they will tour at least two missions. Students will write a letter to a friend who has not visited San Antonio or El Paso, trying to persuade him or her to travel to those missions. Students will pretend that they are a Franciscan priest who wants to establish a mission in Texas. They will write a letter to the Spanish civil authorities explaining the need for the mission.
