Texas Department of Criminal Justice
Students will list and then discuss ideas as to why on average only 60.1 percent of each prison sentence is served as stated on the “Inmate Profile” chart. Students may take this assignment further by researching the overcrowding of prisons in Texas. Students will write a paragraph explaining their opinion on why education information is listed in the “Inmate Profile” chart.
